This HR Officer role presents an excellent opportunity for a proactive and people-focused HR professional to support the full employee lifecycle within the ANZ business. Reporting to the Head of HR - Europe & ANZ, the role plays a key part in partnering with leaders and employees to deliver practical, compliant and employee-centric HR solutions that align with Sun Pharma's global values and local business needs.
Role Purpose
The Human Resources & Administration Officer is responsible for delivering end-to-end HR and administrative support across the organisation. This role ensures compliance with Australian employment legislation, supports the employee lifecycle, manages HR systems and budgets, and contributes to a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle
* Manage the full employee lifecycle including onboarding, probation, performance management, employee relations, and offboarding
* Provide day-to-day HR advice to employees and managers in line with Fair Work Act 2009, National Employment Standards (NES), Modern Awards, and enterprise agreements
* Handle employee grievances, disciplinary processes, and performance issues in a fair, confidential, and timely manner
* Support workplace investigations and documentation where required
* Recruitment & Onboarding
* Manage end-to-end recruitment including job descriptions, advertising, shortlisting, interviews, reference checks, and employment offers
* Coordinate employment contracts ensuring compliance with relevant Modern Awards and NES
* Conduct new-starter inductions and oversee onboarding processes to ensure a smooth employee experience
* Manage Probationary reviews and exit Interviews
Policy, Compliance & Governance
* Develop, review, and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook in line with Australian legislation
* Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety (WHS) obligations in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
* Monitor changes in employment legislation and recommend updates to HR practices
HR Systems & Records
* Maintain and manage the HRIS system, ensuring accurate employee records, reporting, and data integrity
* Prepare HR reports including headcount, turnover, leave, and compliance metrics
* Ensure employee data is handled in accordance with privacy legislation and company policies
HR & Administration Budget
* Create, manage, and monitor the HR and administration budget
* Track recruitment, training, and HR operational costs
* Support cost-control initiatives and provide budget reporting to management
Engagement, Culture & Events
* Plan and coordinate employee engagement activities, internal events, and wellbeing initiatives
* Support internal communications and company-wide HR initiatives
* Promote an inclusive and positive workplace culture
Capability Building
* Upskilling and reskilling: implementation of Functional and Behavioural trainings at country level
* Conduct Lunch & Learn sessions and Implement training programs like handbook overview, policies run through etc.
* Promote usage of internal training platform
Skills & Experience
* 3–5 years' experience in a Human Resources or HR & Administration role within Australia
* Strong working knowledge of Fair Work Act, NES, and Modern Awards
* Experience managing employee relations and grievance processes
* Hands‐on experience with HRIS systems and HR reporting
* Experience in recruitment and onboarding processes
* Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills
* High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline (preferred)
