About the role:
Our client is seeking a talented and experienced project manager to support their big data platform agenda.
Responsibilities include:
1. Manage project plan, budget, structure, schedule, and staffing requirements including internal staff, client employees, and third-party vendors.
2. Serve as a bridge between key client business stakeholders and the Agile development team.
3. Manage value delivered by the Agile development team and ensure alignment with the overall service strategy of the client.
4. Understand the client's divisional and group objectives and strategies, and manage the product's business and technology stakeholders.
5. Balance trade-offs between quality, benefits, risk, budget, time to market, and user experience; communicate effectively to project stakeholders.
6. Define product and requirements with client business stakeholders and development teams by translating requirements and writing epics, features, and stories.
7. Maintain Non-functional Requirements (NFRs) to ensure solutions meet standards and system quality requirements.
8. Support the team and work closely with the Scrum Master to remove impediments and lead by example.
The successful candidate:
The role holder must meet the following criteria:
1. Minimum of 10+ years' experience as a project manager, iteration manager, or Scrum Master in IT consulting or related technology sectors.
2. Minimum of 3+ years' experience managing data initiatives like modernization, migration, governance, reporting, analytics, or data science.
3. Experience with Azure Synapse.
4. Skills in project planning, budgeting, performance management, scheduling, staffing, scope management, contractual deliverables, change control, and risk management.
5. Solid understanding of data professional roles and responsibilities.
6. Knowledge of business-critical system design, SLAs, high availability, fault tolerance, and redundancy.
7. Experience delivering projects on cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP, or IBM.
8. Understanding of containerization, virtualization, infrastructure, and networking.
9. Knowledge of SDLC and methodologies.
10. Experience influencing stakeholders and senior managers.
11. Banking experience is required.
12. Team leadership and management experience.
13. Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related engineering field.
14. Relevant industry certifications.
What's on offer?
This is a 9-month contract with a high chance of extension. The hourly rate ranges from $90 to $110 depending on experience. The role is based in Sydney with hybrid working options.
