About the Role
Our industry partner, ICON RESTAURANTS AUSTRALIA PTY LIMITED trading as Outback Steakhouse, is currently seeking reliable and motivated Cooks to join their dynamic kitchen team.
Working under the direction of senior kitchen staff, the successful candidates will assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely service in a fast‐paced kitchen environment. These roles are ideal for individuals with a strong foundation in commercial cookery who are looking to further develop their skills in a structured and high-volume kitchen.

Salary
$75,000 - $80,000 per annum + superannuation
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook menu items, including steaks, burgers, ribs, and sides, in accordance with standardised recipes
* Assist with daily food preparation and mise en place to support efficient kitchen operations
* Ensure all dishes are presented to a consistent standard in line with brand expectations
* Operate kitchen equipment safely and in accordance with food safety guidelines
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food preparation areas
* Follow instructions from senior kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods
* Assist with stock rotation, storage, and inventory control
* Comply with HACCP, food safety, and workplace health and safety standards at all times
Skills and Experience
* Minimum 1 year of experience in a commercial kitchen is essential
* Relevant qualifications in commercial cookery
* Advanced skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
* Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
* Capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
* Good attention to detail and commitment to food quality
* Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
