We are seeking an experienced and passionateEnvironmental Offset Program Manager to join our team and lead themanagement and delivery of our Environmental Offsets Land Strategyand broader environmental programs.
About theRole
Youwill play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful management andexecution of the Council’s Environmental Offsets LandStrategy. This role is crucial to advancing our commitment toenvironmental sustainability, guiding the strategy from planningthrough to implementation. You will collaborate with stakeholders,and manage a portfolio of environmental projects, ensuringcompliance with regulatory requirements and that we meet ourenvironmental conservation goals.
KeyResponsibilities:
* Responsible forcoordinating the delivery of the Council’s EnvironmentalOffsets Land Strategy and the implementation of theEnvironmental Offsets Program, including coordination of theEnvironmental Offsets program related activities andresources.
* Liaise withState and Federal Government Departments and agencies inrelation to the refinement of the Council’s EnvironmentalOffset Program and the inclusion of policy updates and changesthat will be required to deliver Environmental Offsetsprojects.
* Undertakeshort-, medium- and long-term planning for Environmental Offsetland requirements for both internal and external EnvironmentalOffset projects to identify current and future landrequirements, and the delivery timeframes and costs associatedwith providing these.
* Supportinitiatives for building market capacity to support the Councilwith the delivery of Environmental Offsets projects, such asresearch and development and pilot projects.
* Develop,monitor and manage the Environmental Offsets Program ManagementPlan (EOPMP) including scope, schedule, budget, andquality.
* Monitor andmanage the overall Environmental Offsets Programbudget.
AboutYou
Ourideal candidate will have:
* A tertiaryqualification and significant practical experience inenvironmental science, biodiversity, natural resourcesmanagement, town planning, land resource economics or a relateddiscipline.
* Thoroughdemonstrated working knowledge of Queensland and Commonwealthenvironmental land offsets requirements (experience in otherstates will be considered).
* Qualification/sin project and/or program management and proven experience inimplementing and delivering best practice principles (e.g.PMBOK) in relation to complex infrastructure or land managementprograms.
* Experienceworking across diverse stakeholder groups to deliver optimalproject outcomes, including liaising with Governmentdepartments and agencies, multiple internal teams andfunctions, external organisations and communityrepresentatives.
* Understandingof Queensland Local Government structures, processes,legislation and requirements.
* Relatedexperience in relevant legislation, policies, and standardoperational procedures as they apply to biodiversity, naturalresource management, environmental management and/orconservation land management is highly desirable.
