Sugarcane Productivity Officer
Join PCPSL and play a hands-on role supporting local growers to improve productivity and sustainability across the district.
In this role, you will deliver on-ground services including providing practical agronomic advice, assisting with approved SRA cane variety propagation, and conducting farm inspections covering plant health, machinery, and pest/disease monitoring. You will also support nutrient and chemical management planning, contribute to field days and grower events, and help maintain field trials and moisture probe networks.
You'll work closely with a small, collaborative team committed to delivering high-quality outcomes for the industry.
Opportunity for Growth – Smartcane BMP
There is also scope to support the Smartcane BMP Program, including assisting growers with self-assessments, practice improvements, and industry engagement activities.
About You
You're motivated, practical, and enjoy working with growers. A background in agriculture is advantageous but not essential.
