Get involved in the establishment of a brand-new service
Ohana for Youth, in partnership with 54 reasons, is excited to announce the launch of a new holistic alternative learning program that aims to reconnect Mount Isa young people involved in the youth justice system with education, training, or employment pathways. We support these young people with a team of specialist teachers, teacher aides, youth support, and family support staff. We're looking for people just like you: innovative, creative, and compassionate.
Ohana for Youth is a non-for-profit charity on the Gold Coast, providing alternative education to over 900 young people in Years 7-12 across their two Special Assistance Schools, Ohana College in Logan, Brisbane, and Arcadia College in Robina, Gold Coast. Ohana's schools support students who have disengaged or are at significant risk of disengagement from traditional educational settings due to personal challenges such as learning difficulties, mental health concerns, bullying, domestic and family violence, and other barriers. The colleges foster continuous engagement and cater to individual needs and interests through tailored educational and wellbeing programs.
54 reasons is Australia's leading child rights organisation – no ordinary not-for-profit. Proudly part of the Save the Children Australia Group and global movement, we're here to ensure children and young people have their rights met and thrive in all their diversity.
