Job Title: Casual Registered Nurse
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Registered Nurse to provide nursing support to the AIS Sports Medicine Department.
* About the Role:
* Provide high-quality evidence-based nursing support to Australian high-performance athletes.
* Work autonomously, use clinical skill and knowledge to independently refer athletes to medical practitioners.
* Conduct therapeutic and diagnostic activities as requested by and in collaboration with AIS medical practitioners.
* Manage the storage and administering of medications and vaccines.
About You:
* Current APHRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
* Previous experience working with athletes and adolescents preferred.
* Proficiency in health assessment skills, in particular the ability to competently perform venepuncture, intravenous cannulation, conduct ECGs and conduct respiratory function testing is preferred.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will require:
* A current basic life support (BLS) certificate.
* A level 1 Anti-Doping e-learning course.
* Competency in fields relevant to sport and exercise medicine practice, including sports first aid, emergency care, wound management, infection control, administering of medication, reproductive and sexual health issues, provision of immunisations, and travel health issues.
