Applies a deep understanding of engineering principles to devise and deliver practical and economical solutions to problems.
Produces designs, documentation, specifications, fee proposals, reports, and other documentation to meet client requirements for projects of reasonable complexity.
Manages small design team of structural engineers and drafters, including planning resource allocation (including staff) and checking work.
Prepares client reports.
Project management and compliance
* Assumes responsibility for managing small, medium, and some large-scale projects, including duties such as pricing, tender submissions, technical documentation, project scheduling, and meeting deadlines and budgets.
* Ensures compliance with applicable codes and policies, e.g., WHS practices and Quality Assurance.
* Checks structural engineers' work and performs other tasks as reasonably requested by a manager or director.
Who are we looking for:
This role is ideally suited to someone with:
* Member of Engineers Australia, CPEng/NER
* At least 5-6 years' experience in a similar role, with timber experience highly desirable.
* Software skills: Etabs, Spacegass, RAM, RAPT
* Site experience highly desirable – at least one building project with site attendance.
* Ability to prioritize incoming work appropriately
* Excellent attention to detail
* Professional level of written and verbal communication skills
* Problem-solving and analytical skills
