We are seeking a Full‑time Permanent Consultant (Data Services) in West Perth, Western Australia.
Role Description
We are looking for a passionate data and GIS geek with a geology background to join our Data Services team providing internal data and GIS support and consulting services on mining related projects. SRK leverages its talented global Data Services team to deliver innovative and bespoke digital solutions where we think big and out of the box. You will be passionate about all things geospatial and motivated to be a key part of building our digital practice.
Our successful candidate will be able to use their 2+ years of Geology and 18+ months of GIS and data manipulation experience, as well as ability to use Python, Large Language Models and PowerBI, to translate general concepts into practical solutions for internal clients.
What You'll Do
* Combine your geological, GIS and coding experience to build out dashboards and apps to build out innovative solutions for internal clients.
* Liaise with a broad range of consultants to provide practical advice regarding building efficiencies and automation into their day‑to‑day tasks.
* Maintain existing integrations and ensure dashboards are up to date.
* Assist with educating others in how to use ArcPro, QGIS and PowerBI.
* Participate in developing geospatial data solutions.
* Apply your geological knowledge and resource industry experience to assist with interpretation and QA/QC of geospatial data.
What We're Looking For
* Tertiary qualification in Geology, with additional certificates in GIS and/or data management.
* Professional experience (4+ years) in the mining industry.
* Competency in Microsoft Office, with strong PowerBI skills.
* Experience in working with Esri's suite of products (desktop, mobile and online).
* Coding / scripting skills (preferably Python) to automate and develop workflows.
* Knowledge in SQL queries and databases.
* Knowledge in integrating GIS technologies with other business solutions e.g. MS Power BI, Teams, Azure platform etc.
* Ability to disseminate GIS data compilation from various sources to enhance resource discovery on technical projects.
* Knowledge in ArcPro and QGIS.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Knowledge and/or interest in Machine Learning algorithms and AI technology.
* Data engineering and/or data management skills.
