About the role
We are seeking qualified Chefs and Cooks to join our talented kitchen brigade. This is your chance to join an award‐winning team and work in an iconic venue.
MCEC's success comes down to a food and beverage department made up of some of the brightest and best culinary experts from around the world who support our commitment to sourcing produce from Victorian suppliers and delivering creative catering for our customers.
Responsibilities
* Work with our Delivery & Café teams assisting with events of all sizes.
* Prepare and cook dishes to the highest standard.
* Work autonomously while contributing to the team.
* Demonstrate proven work experience, preferably in a commercial kitchen.
* Be trade qualified or hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
* Comply with food safety standards and HACCP.
* Ensure all food is prepared, cooked, and delivered to the appropriate standard.
* Perform general and specialised cooking duties, including supervising or training other kitchen staff.
* Prepare and cook for both national and international events – from 15 covers to 15,000 covers.
* Use state‐of‐the‐art appliances and tools in a well‐equipped kitchen.
* Develop new ideas that can be used on menus throughout the business.
* Adapt quickly, learn on the job, and maintain basic knowledge of food preparation and customer service.
* Maintain great personal grooming, presentation, and a confident, pleasant manner.
* Work varied shifts (am/pm) and be reliable.
Qualifications
* Trade qualified or Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
* Proven experience in a commercial kitchen.
* Ability to comply with food safety standards and HACCP.
* A Food Handling Certificate is advantageous but not essential.
