**The Opportunity**
The Internal Audit Branch is seeking highly motivated individuals with strong analytical and communication skills to join the branch as Audit Officers, to deliver a range of internal audit, assurance, and advisory products and services. Your work will directly contribute to driving best practice processes within a diverse, complex and global organisation, and supporting the department to achieve its mission.
As an Audit Officer, you will work under the direction of a supervisor and as part of a team to deliver high quality audit, assurance and advisory products and services, and support the broader activities of the Internal Audit Branch. Key aspects of our work include:
- Understanding the department's core policy, business and operating environment to design and deliver products and services that offer strategic and operational value.
- Evaluating whether the department's policy frameworks and procedures meet business needs, legal obligations, and policy requirements.
- Providing advice to senior executives and business areas to enable them to improve their governance, risk, and assurance processes to enhance business outcomes.
- Liaising with a broad stakeholder base, internal and external to the department.
**Key Duties**
Under the direction of your supervisor, you will be required to:
- Work as part of a team to contribute to all phases of producing an audit, assurance or advisory product including planning, fieldwork, and reporting.
- Prepare analysis of the extent to which the department meets policies, procedures and legislative requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare written communication and draft reports to summarise audit/project scope and communicate key findings and outcomes.
- Build client relationships and liaise with business areas to follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations.
- Support procurement and contract management activities.
- Undertake research to support the work of the Branch and assist with other branch priorities as required.
- Set priorities with your supervisor and manage workflows.
