The Research to Operations Program is seeking a talented Graphical Information System (GIS) Officer to support its hydrologic model system development. This is an opportunity to gain experience within a high-performing team which has a major public impact. It is a chance to work with skilled scientists collaborating in a multi-disciplinary effort.
You will be a member of a team of scientists and software developers that build, develop and support hydrological water forecasting systems that power the Bureau's water forecasting services.
Tasks and responsibilities in this role will include assisting in the preparation of spatial GIS data that underpins hydrological models.
The successful applicant will have existing GIS capabilities, an enthusiasm to develop their knowledge in river catchment modelling and an interest in Earth system sciences would also be well regarded.
The position will be based in Adelaide.
