Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of industrial refrigeration projects across food processing, cold storage, logistics, and commercial environments. This role will suit someone who thrives on technical challenge, enjoys client interaction, and can deliver complex projects safely, on time, and within budget.
You will work closely with the Director and General Manager, providing regular updates, managing subcontractors, and ensuring all work meets safety, engineering, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery
* Define project scope, objectives, and technical requirements with clients.
* Work with engineering teams to review and approve refrigeration and ventilation designs.
* Develop detailed schedules, resource plans, and cost estimates.
* Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
Subcontractor Management
* Select, coordinate, and manage subcontractors across mechanical, electrical, and civil trades.
* Negotiate contracts and ensure all contractors have completed Kooltech's contractor agreement prior to commencement.
* Monitor progress, conduct site meetings, resolve issues, and ensure quality and WHS compliance.
* Manage variations, performance concerns, and disputes professionally.
Technical Oversight
* Review and validate engineering designs for compliance with AS/NZS standards.
* Supervise installation, mechanical and electrical assembly, and commissioning activities.
* Coordinate pressure testing, leak detection, performance validation, and troubleshooting.
Client Communication
* Act as the primary point of contact for clients—providing updates, managing expectations, and ensuring satisfaction.
* Maintain strong relationships and proactively address concerns.
* Liaise with engineering, procurement, finance, and service teams.
Compliance & Safety
* Ensure adherence to all AS/NZS standards, WHS rules, and environmental regulations.
* Gather all required certifications and safety documents (SWMS, licences, inductions).
* Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols for refrigerant handling.
* Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory inspections.
Financial & Contract Management
* Monitor and manage project budgets, variations, and cost controls.
* Prepare progress claims, final invoicing, and reporting to senior management.
Post-Project Support
* Coordinate handover and client training.
* Ensure warranty obligations and after-sales service requirements are met.
* Conduct post-project reviews to drive continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience
* Experience in industrial refrigeration, commercial refrigeration, or HVAC project management.
* Strong knowledge of Ammonia and commercial refrigeration systems.
* Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Simpro).
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Solid understanding of WHS and environmental compliance.
* Valid Driver's License required.
Working Conditions
* Mix of office-based planning and on-site supervision.
* Travel to client sites as required.
Reporting Structure
* The Project Manager reports directly to the Director and General Manager, and works closely with the engineering, technical, project, and office teams.
