The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design and construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.
Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This iconic project will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.
Purpose of the Role
To conduct market surveys, compare technical and economic assets, interact with applicants and suppliers to find the best proposals, and coordinate purchasing orders with management approval.
Qualifications
* White Card
Experience
* Minimum 5 years' experience in the Construction Industry in a similar role – preferred
* Experience on large scale construction projects or comparable work
* Experience with Microsoft Office suite
Required Competencies
* Sound knowledge of construction materials and heavy construction industry experience
* Understanding of local and international import/export legislation or requirements
* Understanding of NSW Government Procurement Guidelines
* Fluent English; additional language an advantage
* Commitment to a team-based environment

* Solid technical writing and communication skills
* Good understanding of financial accounting concepts

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
* Support the Material & Equipment Manager in strategy definition.
* Define vendor list, prepare RFPs, manage commercial and contractual negotiations to achieve savings and quality.
* Perform cost analysis, compare offers, and ensure technical checks with Corporate Departments/Operational Units.
* Operate in full compliance with project procedures.
* Manage supplier relations in line with the Company's Code of Ethics and Anti-Corruption Model.
* Ensure project delivery within time, cost, quality, safety, environment, and community constraints.
* Conduct market surveys to find best technical and economic proposals for purchasing.
* Review planned expenditure against budget and obtain procurement approvals.
* Build and maintain positive supplier relationships.
* Coordinate with Department Heads to establish procurement timelines.
* Expedite deliveries as required.
* Ensure deliverables meet project deadlines.
* Prepare purchase order terms and conditions with Legal and Contract Departments.
