Harristown State High School is seeking a Head of Department (Curriculum) with portfolio responsibility for the EALD Intensive English Centre, to join the team. As a Head of Department (Curriculum), you will play a vital role in improving educational outcomes for all students, with a strong focus on supporting
students with an EALD background.

You will lead the development of high-quality teaching and learning practices that meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring inclusive and equitable access to education. By fostering a culture of collaboration and respect, you will nurture positive and supportive relationships among students, staff, families, and the broader school community, contributing to a safe and engaging learning environment.

About the Role:

The Head of Department (Curriculum) has portfolio responsibility for the school's EALD Intensive English Centre. The school's current EALD population exceeds 400 students. Key duties include leadership and management of Intensive English Centre, including:

* Development of EALD Teacher and Teacher Aide timetables
* Management of all student Bandscales and data monitoring / tracking of progression across them
* Capacity building (through professional development) for EALD Teachers and Teacher Aides
* Line management of Pedagogy Coach (EALD Mainstream), EALD Support Staff, EALD Teachers and Teacher Aides
