Maintenance Manager – (Euston / Bunigal Farm, near Robinvale)
Location: Robinvale, VIC
Salary: $80–90K + Super + Toyota HiLux + Short-Term Incentive Plan (10%)
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance team across our 800 acre farm.
This is a hands on, leadership focused role with a strong emphasis on mechanical expertise, safety, and operational excellence.
About the Farm
- 800 acre farm
- Previous Maintenance Manager held the role for 8–9 years, demonstrating strong mechanical, leadership, and safety skills.
- Structure: Maintenance Manager and Irrigation Manager report to the Farm Manager (who reports to the Regional Manager, then GM of Horticulture).
- Maintenance team includes 2 Trade Assistants, expanding to 5 during harvest season.
Contractors also support operations.
- Centralised maintenance team located 20km from Robinvale, managing overall harvester equipment.
Role Purpose
Lead and undertake the maintenance of all machinery and equipment across the farm to ensure a protected, productive, and efficient operation.
The role requires rapid problem solving during harvest to minimise downtime and maximise speed to market.
Key Responsibilities Operations & Maintenance
- Service, repair, and maintain machinery, plant, and vehicles following manuals, AUS standards, regulations, and company procedures.
- Maintain and file all service and repair records.
- Monitor equipment to schedule preventative maintenance and reduce downtime.
- Supervise, train, and lead a small team of Trade Assistants, expanding during harvest season.
- Ensure harvest machinery is serviced, maintained, and operational for peak performance.
- Manage tools, equipment, and stock levels to meet operational needs.
- Oversee contractors when required.

- Tractors
- Mechanical harvesters (shakers, sweepers, pickup machines)
- Sprayers, fertiliser spreaders
- ATVs / Utes
- Pruning and chainsaw equipment
- Trailers and bins
People & Culture
- Assist in leading, developing, and managing a high performance farm team.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, contractors, and external stakeholders.
Financial Management
- Assist the Farm Manager with managing the R&M; budget, stock management, and optimising efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, JSAs, SWMS, and all OHS procedures.
- Report hazards, incidents, and near misses promptly.
- Participate in safety training and emergency drills.
Ideal Candidate
- Strong mechanical background in agriculture or horticulture.
- Leadership experience managing small teams.
- Experienced with R&M; budgets, stock management, and preventative maintenance.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, SOPs, and JSAs.
- Hands-on approach with ability to respond quickly during harvest.
- Driver’s license; ability to work on-site during harvest and beyond.
