Location: Arundel, QLD, 4214 Full-Time: Immediate start Reports to: Manager Job Title: Construction Project Manager Salary range: $80,000 - $85,000 + Superannuation Job Closure date: 30 days About the Role On behalf of our client, a prestigious and established joinery and cabinet-making company, we are seeking a highly organised and technically minded Construction Project Engineer to join their dynamic team.
Our client specialises in the design, manufacture, and installation of high-end custom joinery, architectural timber features, and commercial cabinetry. They are renowned for delivering bespoke solutions that blend functionality with exceptional craftsmanship, working closely with architects and designers to bring complex visions to life. In this role, you will be the technical backbone of their project delivery team, ensuring that every detail, from the initial shop drawing to the final installation, is executed with precision.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Planning & Technical Interpretation: Oversee the technical lifecycle of bespoke joinery projects by meticulously assessing and interpreting architectural drawings, specifications, and design intent.
Translate these into detailed, production-ready shop drawings and cutting lists for the manufacturing team.
* Resource & Procurement Management: Strategically coordinate the procurement of high-quality materials, timber, hardware, and finishes.
Manage supply chain logistics to ensure materials arrive on-site or in the workshop precisely when required, preventing project delays.
* Stakeholder & Client Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact, consulting directly with architects, interior designers, and engineering professionals to resolve design clashes and ensure the joinery integrates seamlessly with building services.
* Quality Assurance & Site Integration: Manage the interface between the workshop and construction sites.
Conduct site inspections to verify measurements, ensure compliance with Australian Standards, and oversee the work of installation technicians and subcontractors to guarantee flawless finishes.
* Risk & Compliance Management: Proactively monitor project risks related to custom manufacturing, including material lead times and on-site access issues.
Ensure all joinery installations adhere strictly to building codes, safety regulations, and the company’s rigorous quality standards.
* Program Management & Scheduling: Develop and maintain master project schedules that align workshop production with construction milestones.
Monitor progress against tight deadlines, managing critical path activities to ensure on-time delivery without compromising on detail. Skills & Experience
* A qualification in Construction Project Management, Engineering, or a related trade (highly regarded).
* Proven 3+ years of experience in a project engineering or coordination role, ideally within the joinery, shopfitting, or fit-out sector.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and a strong understanding of timber joinery construction methods.
* High-level competency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Cabinet Vision or similar design software is highly regarded.
* A strong eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality, design-led outcomes.
