Position Information Warilla High School has an enrolment of 1000 students, including 133 Aboriginal students and seven support classes. The school provides a quality, comprehensive education to a diverse student enrolment, supported by a largely experienced staff with increasing numbers of new scheme teachers. Selection Criteria
* Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria.
* Demonstrated expertise in teaching and leading Year 7 to 12 English, with the capacity to drive high-quality curriculum implementation, model exemplary practice, and build staff capability to improve student outcome
* Demonstrated capacity to lead explicit literacy instruction within the English faculty, supporting teachers to implement evidence-based strategies that strengthen students' reading, writing and analytical skills.
* Proven capacity to lead and inspire a faculty culture of high expectations, professional growth, and collaboration, ensuring consistency, accountability, and clear evidence of impact on student learning and engagement.
* Demonstrated ability to work collegially with the executive team to identify, develop and lead initiatives to support the school's strategic directions.
General Selection Criteria 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
