About The Opportunity
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) – Metabolic Clinic Enhancement, provides expert clinical leadership and consultancy, throughout Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD). The CNC collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, carers and external services to deliver high-quality, evidence-based, person-centred care, while leading practise development and service innovation across the program.
As the CNC –Metabolic Clinic, you will be responsible for:
Providing expert, patient-centred clinical consultancy and advanced nursing care to people with complex and chronic health needsDeveloping, implementing and evaluating coordinated, evidence-based care plans in collaboration with patients, carers and multidisciplinary teamsLeading and role-modelling best practice, clinical governance and ongoing service development within the Metabolic Clinic and community-based servicesDelivering specialist education, support and clinical advice to patients, carers and health professionals on complex metabolic and chronic disease managementLeading and contributing to quality improvement activities, clinical audit, research and service development initiativesIdentifying, adopting and evaluating innovative models of care, including new treatments, technologies and therapeutic approaches relevant to the specialtyContributing to strategic and operational planning, service evaluation and the future direction of the Metabolic Clinic and associated community health services

About You
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
At least 5 years fulltime equivalent post registration clinical experience in addition who has approved post registration nursing / midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which they are appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the employer.A Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)A strong understanding of the five Clinical Nurse Consultant domainsExcellent communication, leadership and consultancy skillsCommitment to continuous learning, research and service improvementCurrent Class C drivers licence and ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances with the MLHD
