We are seeking a full-time remote Video Editor to join our team and work on client projects. In this role, you will transform raw footage into polished, engaging, and professional content that is consistently on-brand, on-message, and impactful.
Collaborate with an international team based in Sydney, Australia.
Responsibilities
Project Workflow
- Review project briefs to understand client goals, brand identity, and messaging.
- Organise and download raw footage (projects average around 100GB) from Dropbox.
- Maintain a well-structured and organized system for all project files and timelines to ensure smooth handovers and future revisions.
Editing & Creative Tasks
- Craft compelling narratives by culling interviews and identifying key soundbites.
- Source and select high-quality music tracks and sound effects.
- Apply graphics, branding elements, text overlays, and logos that align with client guidelines.
- Deliver qualified audio mixes, balancing dialogue, music, and effects.
- Perform colour correction and grading to achieve a polished, professional look.
- Create automated captions and refine them for a polished, readable appearance.
- Produce reels, Instagram edits, and showcase videos for our own marketing.
- Provide regular project updates, including end-of-day summaries.
- Be available for live collaboration via Zoom and chat during designated hours.
- Share drafts and project files seamlessly using cloud platforms.
- Proactively offer creative input and ideas to enhance projects.
- Efficiently apply feedback from both producers and clients.
Qualifications
- Expert-level proficiency with DaVinci Resolve Studio.
- Capable hardware for editing 4K footage at 25/50/100fps.
- A color-accurate monitor for professional grading.
- Studio monitors or headphones for precise audio mixing.
- Fluent in English, with the ability to understand Australian accents and technical subject matter.
- Demonstrated strong storytelling instincts and the ability to turn interviews into cohesive narratives.
- A keen eye for design, branding, and tasteful graphics.
- Proven sound design skills—selecting and integrating music, voiceovers, and sound effects appropriately.
- A portfolio that demonstrates the ability to deliver polished, client-ready edits.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and consistent.
- Self-motivated but also a robust collaborator.
- An excellent communicator who provides proactive updates.
