Job Title: Volunteer Coordinator
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Volunteer Coordinator.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Interview and onboard potential volunteers, ensuring they have all necessary information and paperwork completed.
2. Induct and train volunteers on duties, confidentiality, police checks, workplace health and safety, and Aged Care Standards.
3. Meet and greet new volunteers, including site orientation, building entry, delivery details, and answering questions.
4. Maintain and update volunteer records, compile volunteer rosters and schedules, accommodating holidays and sick leave.
5. Enter data into GISMOW system, perform general office duties as backup when required.
6. Serve walk-in customers, handle meal payments, and issue receipts.
7. Answer phones, handle inquiries, and transfer calls.
8. Sign volunteers in and out in the attendance book.
9. Complete all required training.
Requirements:
1. Able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
2. Empathy for the frail elderly and people with disabilities.
3. Effective communication skills, including conflict resolution.
4. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and Meals on Wheels applications.
5. Knowledge of GISMOW database program.
6. Experience in training and explaining complex concepts.
7. Cash handling experience.
8. Flexibility to support administration staff and take on additional duties.
9. Ability to organize and coordinate volunteer rosters, with flexibility for short-notice changes.
10. Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
11. Understanding of not-for-profit organizations.
12. Ability to promote Meals on Wheels services.
13. Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety Procedures and Aged Care Standards.
