LGI Ltd is seeking a Leading Hand to oversee field-based construction activities associated with the installation and maintenance of landfill gas infrastructure across Queensland. This is a hands-on leadership role.
This Brisbane-based role includes regular regional travel (up to 2 weeks) across Queensland. LGI provides a company vehicle, accommodation, and meal allowances while travelling.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate your team while overseeing the installation and maintenance of landfill gas infrastructure.
* Monitor work progress to ensure productivity and timelines by fostering a positive, accountable, and communicative team culture.
* Lead safe work practices, ensure PPE use, identify and control hazards, and drive continuous safety improvements.
* Perform hands-on work, including poly welding, trenching, pipe installation, and site preparation, and provide on-the-job mentoring to field technicians, supporting your team's development in machine operation, poly welding, and other competencies.
What We're Looking For
Mandatory
* Construction Induction (White Card).
* Demonstrated experience in a Leading Hand, Senior Labourer, or similar supervisory role in construction, civil, or landfill operations.
* Proven competence in mobile plant operations and pipeline installation.
* Current driver's licence
* Ability to undertake respirator fit testing and medical assessments.
* Physically fit and able to work in varying weather conditions.
Desirable
* Experience working on landfill sites or with landfill gas infrastructure.
* Poly welding certifications (or willingness to obtain).
* Tickets for an excavator, skid steer/posi track, or other relevant plant.
* Strong understanding of safety systems and risk management.
