About the Role
The Women's and Children's Division at North Canberra Hospital provides Maternity, Neonatal & Gynaecology services to women and their families in the ACT. These services include antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care; gynaecology care; neonatal special care nursery support and domiciliary care.
Care is provided by a multidisciplinary team including Midwifery and Nursing Teams, Medical staff, and Allied Health specialists. The Nurse/Midwife will provide advanced clinical care to neonates in the Special Care Nursery (SCN).
The successful applicant will have advanced practice knowledge in neonatal practice and experience providing clinical leadership. They will work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team and deputise for the Clinical Midwife Consultant after hours.
Responsibilities also include mentoring and supporting less experienced midwifery staff, developing Performance Development Plans and supporting them to achieve their learning goals. The role includes taking responsibility for own professional development.
