The Role
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to manage a portfolio of clients and deliver high-quality compliance and tax work across a range of entity types and industries.
You will report to two partners and work across both our general SME and medical/dental client bases. The role is grounded in strong technical compliance work, financial statements, tax returns, and ATO matters. With scope to contribute to tax planning and structuring engagements as they arise.
This is a hands‐on role with genuine responsibility. You will be the primary point of contact for your clients, attend to their day‐to‐day needs, and ensure work is delivered accurately and on time.
What You Will Do
* Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns across companies, trusts, partnerships, SMSFs, and individuals
* Manage your own client portfolio and serve as the day‐to‐day point of contact
* Handle complex tax matters, BAS lodgements, and ATO correspondence
* Conduct client meetings and provide clear, practical advice on compliance and tax obligations
* Assist with tax planning, structuring, and other advisory matters as required
* Review work prepared by junior and intermediate accountants
* Support improvements to internal processes and workflows
What We Are Looking For
* CA or CPA qualified (or nearing completion)
* 4–6 years' experience in Australian public practice
* Sound technical knowledge of income tax, GST, and financial reporting standards
* Experience preparing and reviewing work across a range of entity types
* Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and meet deadlines
* A clear communicator—able to explain compliance and tax matters in plain language
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to getting things right
Also Valued
* SMSF experience
* Experience acting for medical, dental, or other professional services clients
* Exposure to tax planning, business structuring, or practice structuring engagements
