This position is in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Augusta office located in Hallowell, Maine. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of the office). Roles And Responsibilities - Leading other engineers, designers, and drafters and self-performing all aspects of electrical substation civil design including permitting support, site design, foundation design, structure design, and control building design - Development of civil construction specifications, cost estimates, engineering proposals, and project schedules - Coordination with all disciplines contributing to electrical substation design - Constructability of electrical substations - Preparation of calculation packages to satisfy client and code requirements - Occasional travel will be required Required Education/Experience - BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering) degree from an accredited college - Ability to function as a Substation Civil Engineer in our Augusta office located in Hallowell, Maine - Accredited college degree in civil engineering - 4 + years civil design experience - Mechanical reasoning skills and attention to detail - The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel - Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship Desired Education/Experience - Experience in electric utility substation design (15kV through 500kV) is a plus - Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, RISA, MatchCAD, LPile, and Civil 3D are beneficial - Geotechnical background is a plus - Professional Engineering license (PE) or the ability to obtain licensure and ability to obtain licensure in multiple states - Ability to successfully participate in multiple projects concurrently and manage budgets and schedules POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is a global consulting environmental and engineering firm and one of the top design firms in the energy sector.
