Job Summary
The Supervisor for site services is responsible for supervising and directing operations within the indirect and site support services for construction. Supervises and directs temporary facility and indirect craft professionals, subordinate contractor services, and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction performance follows specifications and is within schedules and budgets. This role is offered on a FIFO basis to North Queensland, operating on a 2:1 roster.
Project Overview
Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets. The M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world.
Major Responsibilities
* Implementing the project ES&H program and quality control program.
* Supervises, coordinates and/or directs craft activities as assigned for the services disciplines.
* Coordinating craft safety training and always enforcing safe work practices in conjunction with the ES&H staff.
* Planning the craft manpower and interfacing with Industrial Relations for craft recruitment, hiring, and skills training programs.
* Oversight of the needs of the Site services crews for craft personnel, subcontractor support, construction services, construction equipment, tools, and consumables as well as optimizing their utilization.
* Working closely with other lead discipline superintendents, supervisors and coordinating efforts and activities to meet the overall project requirements.
* Maintaining a high level of housekeeping throughout the work area.
Education and Experience Requirements
* 10 years of related large industrial construction project services support experience.
* 5 years of supervisory experience in a site services function role with experience in managing and maintaining temporary facilities, waste management, traffic control and road and site access.
Required Knowledge and Skills
* Must have knowledge and understanding of construction operations at the jobsite.
* Must have knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the Bechtel Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Core Processes and Bechtel's Zero Accidents philosophy.
* Must have knowledge and understanding of Bechtel's Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs).
* Must have knowledge and understanding of Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards and other automation tools used on Bechtel projects.
* Must be computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications in accordance with current BSAP standards.
* Must be familiar with current industry quality standards and applicable code requirements.
