Vestas Australia are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Sales Manager to join our Commercial Sales team. The Sales Team for Australia and New Zealand is responsible for all sales related activities from early engagement with customers, developing our value proposition and ultimately negotiation of new contracts for wind farms. You will work with customers and internal colleagues to create valuable solutions for some of the largest renewable energy projects in Australia and New Zealand. To be successful in this role you will have worked in an EPC environment or as a vendor in the renewables or power industry. Your experience will be greatly valued and give you added insight into the workings of client negotiation and contract interpretation.
A large part of your role will be working with an allocated deal team spread across all relevant departments to help achieve continuity and work as a cohesive team to provide tenders efficiently.
Responsibilities
* Build Vestas' relationship with customers, develop solutions to meet their needs and ensure customer satisfaction
* Handle the commercial contract negotiations
* Develop bid, negotiation and commercial strategies with the support of the Sales leadership
* Lead the sales process throughout the bidding process, ensuring timely passage through the stages of the sales process
* Drive a cross-functional sales team consisting of analysts, engineers, construction, procurement, and subject matter experts to create valuable solutions for Vestas and our customers
* Coordinate tenders and negotiations – supporting the team to close on contracts within targets for revenue and margins
* Contribute to continual improvement of sales processes
Qualifications
* Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, law, or finance
* 5+ years of commercial or project management experience, ideally within wind energy, power plants, infrastructure, or the construction industry
* Experience with commercial negotiations in large industrial projects
* Understanding of the commercial aspects of complex products and will be required to translate this knowledge into a contractual context.
* Experience with long-term sales processes
* Business insight, strategic capabilities with commercial understanding and deal-making capabilities
* Team player, willing to learn and develop, and adapt quickly to fast changing environment
* High integrity and credibility
