The Little Gourmet is committed to offering healthy, nutritious and appealing meals for young learners in early learning centres.
We are looking for a cook who is able to approach the role in a calm and systematic manner in order to deliver food which is of high quality & taste, healthy and attractive to children.
You must be energetic, an excellent communicator, enjoy working in a team and demonstrate a high level of customer service.
The cook is responsible for meal preparation and cooking, shopping, ordering, monitoring stock levels, stock rotation, kitchen hygiene, menu planning, working within budget, catering for special events and delivery of meals to centres.
The candidate must have:
1. Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate
2. Nutrition and Menu Planning for Children Certificate
3. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
4. A Working with Children Check clearance number (or willingness to obtain)
5. Experience preparing creative and nutritious meals for large groups is essential as well as excellent time management and organisational skills.
6. High level oral and written communication skills
7. Proven ability to meet deadlines
8. Current driver's licence and a car
9. First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis Management Certificates (or willingness to obtain)
10. Previous experience in early childhood is not essential, but will be highly regarded
