This niche, Newcastle based consulting business operating in the areas of hazardous materials, occupational hygiene, industrial chemistry, contaminated land management, hazardous waste management, hazardous chemicals audits and training.
**Requirement**:
Due to continual work from returning key clients, an opportunity now exists for a
**Hazmat Consultant** /
**Licensed Asbestos Assessor (LAA) **to join the team in a permanent, full-time role.
**The role**:
- HAZMAT and Asbestos inspections/surveys
- Provide asbestos assessment reports and recommendations
- Provide site supervision for asbestos removal projects
- Conduct asbestos monitoring, including fibre count lab work
- Clearance inspections for friable & non-friable asbestos removal projects
- Technical report writing, scope of works development & technical advice.
- If desired, this role will also give you exposure to wider ranging Occupational Hygiene and Contaminated Lands Environmental work.
**You will need to have**
- Current Asbestos Assessors License
- NATA asbestos fibre counting experience and solid laboratory skills
- 2+ years' experience carrying out Hazmat/Asbestos assessment, monitoring and reporting.
- Current Australian Driver's License
- Able to travel to project sites as required
- Sound written and oral communication skills with proven experience producing technical reports.
- Ability to work well independently when required as well in a team environment.
- Computer literate - Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting.
**Key responsibilities in the role will include the following**:
- Conducting asbestos monitoring, including fibre count laboratory work
- Hazardous Materials and Asbestos surveys
- Provide asbestos assessment reports and recommendations
- Provide site supervision for asbestos removal projects
- Clearance inspections of friable & non-friable asbestos removal work
- Technical report writing, scope of works development & technical advice.
