FinXL is looking for a bright and ambitious Associate/Junior Data Engineer to build the real-time data platforms that drive sales and trading for a leading bank.
FinXL is also able to take over existing visas and provide sponsorship for consultants.
Responsibilities
* Develop custom data parsers and tools for structured data using ANTLR.
* Implement and optimize large-scale data pipelines using Apache Spark.
* Collaborate with diverse teams including Quant, Trading, and Risk on technical delivery.
* Work within an Agile environment featuring 4-week sprints, CI/CD, and peer-reviewed code.
* Participate in third-tier production support to maintain system uptime and reliability.
* Help solve complex data challenges in finance, focusing on OTC derivatives.
* Contribute to building Java-based microservices and custom data tooling.
Key Skills & Experience
* Strong Java programming skills.
* A genuine interest in ANTLR, compiler construction, or domain-specific languages.
* Hands-on exposure to Apache Spark for batch or streaming.
* A solid understanding of data engineering concepts (serialization, messaging, schema design).
* Enthusiasm for OTC derivatives and financial data systems.
* A fast learner with meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
* Comfortable with Agile practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git).
