Join a leading financial services firm as an experienced Investment Tax Specialist. We are seeking a professional with a strong understanding of investment structures and tax laws, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
*About the Role:****
Offered as an initial 12-month contract, The Investment Tax Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the company's investment activities by providing expert tax due diligence, ensuring tax compliance, and assisting with tax-related matters across the company's investment vehicles. Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Review investment tax details and documents.
* Monitor ongoing investment activities to ensure compliance.
* Help create tax plans and answer tax questions.
This role does not carry revenue or team management responsibilities but may involve managing 1-3 project team members occasionally. The focus is on domestic scope within the Pacific region.
*About You:*
You are a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in investment tax. You possess:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field. A professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, or Masters of Law) is preferred.
* Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in investment tax, tax advisory/compliance, or a related field, preferably within the managed funds, superannuation, or financial services industry.
* Strong understanding of Australian taxation laws and regulations, particularly as they relate to investments and managed funds.
* Solid understanding of investment concepts and structures.
* Experience reviewing legal documents related to investments.
* Knowledge of Australian taxation laws applicable to investments.
* Familiarity with foreign tax laws (e.g., US, Luxembourg) is an advantage.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including investment teams, legal counsel, external advisers, and investment managers.
