We are seeking a Finance Data Analyst to join the Finance team based in Brisbane. This is a hands‐on, data‐driven role that sits at the intersection of finance, reporting and analysis. You will spend much of your time working with complex Excel workbooks, collecting and validating data, and ensuring critical reports are delivered accurately and on time. Approximately 50% of the role focuses on data analysis and reporting, with the remaining 50% supporting the finance team through end‐of‐month activities and reconciliations. This position does not require formal accounting qualifications – instead, success in the role is driven by strong Excel capability, attention to detail, and a structured, analytical mindset.
Job DescriptionWhat You'll Be Doing
Data & Reporting Focus (Approx. 50%)
* Collect, analyse and validate large datasets used for internal and external reporting
* Work extensively in Excel using formulas, reconciliations and structured worksheets
* Maintain and update reporting workbooks and data mappings
* Investigate discrepancies and ensure data accuracy across reports
* Meet strict reporting deadlines with a high level of precision
* Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting processes
Finance & Month‐End Support (Approx. 50%)
* Assist with end‐of‐month close activities
* Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations
* Process accruals and journals
* Upload, maintain and document reconciliations
* Support day‐to‐day finance tasks and ad‐hoc reporting requests
The Successful Applicant
* Highly proficient in Excel and enjoy working with large, detailed datasets
* Have experience in finance, reporting, data analysis or a similar role
* Comfortable working to deadlines and juggling competing priorities
* Strong attention to detail and take pride in clean, accurate work
* Enjoy structured, methodical work with clear outputs
* Don't necessarily hold accounting qualifications – but understand how finance data fits together
