Join our Clinical Governance Team as a Health Information Officer and play a vital role in strengthening health information services across East Arnhem Land. In this dynamic role, you will lead the Right to Information process in line with NT privacy legislation, support and train staff in clinical information systems (including Communicare), and champion data quality, integrity, and continuous improvement across our primary health care services. Working across patient records, digital health, telehealth, billing and reporting systems, you will ensure accurate, secure and timely information that supports quality care and informed decision-making. About Miwatj
Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling YolÅ‹u powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.
Essential Requirements
We are seeking a culturally respectful and systems-savvy professional who is committed to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination, with a genuine understanding of the challenges faced by Yolŋu people in remote communities. You will bring hands-on experience using Communicare Electronic Medical Records, strong capability in data cleaning and reporting, and confidence delivering training and support to staff to strengthen system use and data quality. A qualification in Health Information Management (or equivalent) will be highly regarded.
