As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Project Estimator to join our team and play a key role in ensuring our projects are priced accurately, competitively and profitably.
The Role
This is an office-based estimating position that supports our Project Managers across all three divisions.
Our workflow is structured and efficient:
* Project Managers attend site visits and client meetings
* They gather measurements, specifications and scope details
* The Estimator then builds the full project quote in Buildxact based on the information provided
You will be responsible for preparing detailed costings for new projects, pricing variations for existing jobs, and working closely with suppliers to secure competitive material rates.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates based on site information, plans and scope documents
* Build and finalise project quotes using Buildxact software
* Build project quotes across three Construction companies
* Price variations for active construction projects
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
* Negotiate improved rates and maintain strong supplier relationships
* Ensure margins align with company profitability targets
* Review and refine estimates as project scopes evolve
* Assist in improving estimating systems, templates and processes
* Maintain a structured directory of suppliers and subcontractors
About You
* Minimum 2+ years’ experience in construction estimating (residential preferred)
* Experience using Buildxact (or strong proficiency in similar estimating software)
* Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and sequencing
* Ability to interpret plans and scope documentation accurately
* High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
* Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills
* Organised and able to manage multiple quotes simultaneously
* A proactive team player who takes ownership of outcomes
