Position Overview
We are excited to announce an prospect for a Retail Manager at Ovial International Pty. Ltd for our business Brumby's Bakery Gladstone. This role is responsible for the effective selling of products, providing expert advice to customers on product selection and use, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. The position oversees all retail operations, maintaining safety and compliance with company standards. The Retail Manager is also responsible for managing inventory, supervising staff, and organising the bakery layout, while ensuring the timely and cost-effective completion of daily tasks and promotional activities.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Organise and control all bakery operations.
- Manage inventory and stocks of essential baking items, daily reconciliation, banking, and other administrative duties.
- Collaborate with bakery/franchise owners to align retail strategies with organizational goals.
- Oversee and coordinate daily production operations, ensuring consistent quality, freshness, and timely availability of Brumby's signature baked products.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and meet or exceed financial targets.
- Set product prices in consultation with franchiser implementing competitive purchasing and pricing policies to reduce expenditure and increase sales.
- Organise sales promotions and in-store events.
- Analyse sales and revenue reports, make forecasts.
- Analyse market trends to identify opportunities for growth.
- Supervise and guide staff towards maximum performance.
- Resolve staffing issues and stock discrepancies.
- Deal with complaints from customers to maintain the store's reputation.
- Ensure the customer experience is positive, leading to new opportunities and repeat business.
- Contribute to a safe and positive work environment.
- Decide which bakery products to offer, how much stock to keep, and the level of customer service to provide.
- Ensure organisational policies and procedures are followed.
- Effectively manage store profit and loss and accurately forecast resource demands.
- Control costs without compromising standards and customer service.
- Ensure occupational health and safety guidelines are maintained and adhered to by the staff.
- Coordinate with other departments and communicate goals.
- Oversee stock levels, manage orders, conduct inventory audits.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or higher in the relevant field. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
- At least one year of relevant experience.
Benefits & Remuneration
- Salary commensurate with experience – $77,000 to $80,000 plus guaranteed superannuation.
