Position Details

* Status: Temporary Flexible Full-time or Temporary part-time
* Tenure Period: 7/07/2025 - 5/09/2025 (FT) or ASAP for 6 months (PT)
* Classification: AO3
* Salary: $2,865.00 - $3,179.00 per fortnight (Full-time)
* Location: Kunda Park, Sunshine Coast Zone
* Closing Date: Midnight Monday, 12/05/2025


About Us

The Queensland Fire Department (QFD) provides fire prevention, preparedness, and response services, including emergency responses such as road crash rescue, bushfire, hazardous materials, technical and vertical rescue, severe weather incidents, remote and swiftwater rescue, and community safety programs. The department encompasses Queensland Fire and Rescue (QFR), Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFSQ), and others, working together to manage emergencies and support volunteers across Queensland.


Role Purpose

You will provide high-level confidential administrative support to regional operations, development, or emergency operations, including managing HR, finance, records, awards, official functions, and secretariat duties, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. You will assist teams across various units to support administrative functions and ensure effective service delivery.


Key Requirements

* C Class driver’s licence (non-restricted)
* Government purchasing qualifications (level 1)
* Knowledge or experience with human resource and finance systems and database management


Special Requirements

* Support activation of Regional Operation Centre (ROC) or State Operations Centre (SOC) as needed, including potential deployment outside normal hours, nights, weekends, or extended hours.


Responsibilities

* Provide administrative support including correspondence, reports, secretariat duties
* Manage office duties: mail, filing, diary, travel, equipment maintenance
* Coordinate HR and finance activities, ensuring compliance
* Utilize databases for reporting and record maintenance
* Maintain stakeholder relationships
* Develop and train on administrative processes
* Prioritize workload and resolve issues proactively
* Support during emergencies, including activation and extended hours
