Remuneration: $114,251.00 - $134,809.00 per annum

Location: Research and Ethics Governance Office within the Research and Education Network

Where you'll be working

Western Sydney Local Health District's Research Office at Westmead Hospital supports one of the most prolific research programmes in the NSW Health system, with active partnerships with the University of Sydney, Western Sydney University, Notre Dame Australia, Westmead Institute for Medical Research and Children's Medical Research Institute.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a senior governance role for an experienced professional who thrives in a complex regulatory environment. You will manage the business of the HREC, ensure regulatory compliance and provide expert advice to researchers, sponsors and institutional partners across the WSLHD Research Precinct.

In This Role You Will

* Manage and coordinate the business of the HREC, HREC Sub-Committee and Scientific Advisory Committee
* Ensure research projects comply with NHMRC National Statement, ICH-GCP, state and national legislation and NSW Health policies
* Advise and educate researchers, sponsors and institutional partners on ethics and governance requirements
* Manage REGIS submissions, post-approval activities, safety reporting and regulatory record-keeping
* Contribute to policy development, best-practice guidelines and HREC member education programs

* Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or significant work experience in a field with relevant demonstrated experience.
* Demonstrated knowledge of legislation, codes and guidelines relevant to clinical and research ethics and governance.
* Ability to prioritise workload in a high-volume environment to meet strict deadlines.
* Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Demonstrated learning agility, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a flexible approach to work to adapt to changing needs and competing demands.
* Demonstrated high‐level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, able to negotiate, influence and lead change.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across a wide variety of stakeholders.
* Demonstrated advanced capacity to use office computing applications including REGIS, Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams.
