Harvest Manager – Vegetable Farming
Lead a small team and oversee all aspects of vegetable farming, from planning and crop production to harvesting and quality control.
* Plan and coordinate the production and marketing of crops, such as baby leaf produce, from soil preparation to harvest.
* Plan and manage harvesting processes of salad mixes to improve crop yields.
* Oversee and supervise staff regarding harvest collection, storing, grading, packaging, sale, purchase and dispatch.
* Monitor, train and supervise harvest staff to strictly adhere to Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
* Estimate and maintain optimal growing conditions and crop yields based on research and farm conditions.
* Monitor farm parameters such as pest and disease incidence, weed population and soil pH; advise, plan, and implement relevant changes to improve crop yields.
* Maintain and evaluate records of farming activities and monitor market activity to plan crop preparation and production to meet contract requirements and market demand.
* Maintain records of all harvesting and matters relating to crop quality and procedures.
* Maintain efficiency and quality of harvest team's work.
* Train harvest team where necessary.
* Responsible for quality control of all produce leaving the farm and implement quality control measures.
* Advise and enforce policies and procedures relating to harvesting.
* Required qualification in agriculture or minimum five years' experience in a similar role.
* Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
* Ability to work in all weather conditions.
* Hands‐on, energetic and proactive.
* Flexible and able to lead from the front.
* Minimum three years' experience managing staff.
* Experience in vegetable farming is advantageous.
* Shift work will be required depending on the season.
* Attention to detail is a must.
Tractor Driver – Vegetable Farming
Drive tractors and support vegetable farming operations, with emphasis on baby leaf or lettuce production.
* Ability to work independently.
* Tractor driving.
* Land preparation.
* Experience in irrigation.
* Cultivation.
* Bed forming.
* Spraying.
* Hold current chemical certification (highly advantageous).
* Willing to work flexible hours.
Factory Operator – Food Manufacturing
Work in a food manufacturing facility on a 12‐hour shift rotating roster.
* Identifying stock.
* Machine operation.
* Picking and packing orders.
* Pallet stacking.
* Liaising with internal team members.
* Cleaning.
* Reliable.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Fast and willing learner.
* Helpful attitude.
* Punctual.
* Physically fit.
* Basic computer literacy.
