Where you’ll be working
Based within the Newcastle and Raymond Terrace Community Nursing team, you’ll join an integrated and highly collaborative service delivering care throughout the Hunter and Lower Mid North Coast region. Operating out of Community Health Centres across both locations, you’ll work Monday to Friday (8:00am–4:30pm) in a nurse-led environment that fosters connection, innovation, and flexibility.
This is an chance to make a genuine impact outside of a hospital setting, building strong connections with individuals and families within their own communities. The team culture is one of support and mutual learning, where everyone contributes and grows together in a values-driven workplace.
About the role
As a Community Registered Nurse, you’ll experience variety and purpose every day. You will provide person-centred, evidence-based care in the home and community, working closely with individuals, families, and the broader multidisciplinary team.
This role offers the chance to expand your nursing expertise across both generalist and specialist areas, including wound care, medication management (with IV therapy in partnership with the Out and About Team), continence support, PEG tube management, intercostal drain care, and diabetes education. You’ll also support palliative care clients in collaboration with Mater Hospital services and the Nelson Bay Palliative Care team, with access to Nurse Practitioners and Clinical Nurse Specialists in wound and continence care for guidance and support.
For nurses who value autonomy, variety, and the opportunity to deliver holistic, timely care, this is a truly rewarding position. While experienced Community RNs are highly regarded, nurses at all levels of experience are warmly encouraged to apply.

- An understanding of palliative care principles and experience supporting clients in the home setting.
- Dedication to the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect, Empowerment, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
Requirements
