Job Title: Clinical Specialist in Chemical Pathology

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic, consultative, procedural, and on-call specialty services in Chemical Pathology. This will include participating in teaching, research, quality improvement, and administrative activities commensurate with the Staff Specialists (State) Award.

Main Responsibilities:

* Providing high-quality clinical services to patients in Chemical Pathology.
* Participating in teaching and training of medical students and junior staff.
* Conducting research and quality improvement initiatives in Chemical Pathology.
* Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to Chemical Pathology.
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.

Requirements:

To be eligible for this role, applicants must have:

* Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Chemical Pathology, or equivalent specialist recognition.
* Demonstrated commitment to basic, applied, or clinical research and/or medical education and staff training.
* Proven ability to work as a team member with effective communication, interpersonal skills, and adaptability within a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Demonstrated personal qualities including effective communication skills, motivation, initiative, time management, and commitment to professional development.
* Demonstrated commitment to the principles of clinical quality management, continuous improvement, and contemporary knowledge of National Pathology Accreditation Advisory Council (NPAAC) Standards and NATA accreditation processes.
* Demonstrated contemporary clinical knowledge and technical expertise in Chemical Pathology.
