Calvary Riverina Hospital provides a range of services to the Riverina community, including our Surgicentre, Drug and Alcohol Centre, and maternity and women's health services.
About the role
Calvary Riverina Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic Cook with a passion for the hospitality industry to join our busy team on a casual, as‐needed basis. The Cook will support the Food Services team by preparing and producing meals for in‐house patients, staff and visitors, managing stock control, maintaining food and workplace safety, and ensuring compliance with local and national food safety requirements. The Cook will follow any additional directives from the Head Chef or Hospitality Services Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the catering service to meet patients' food requirements, including food preparation, storage, hygiene, distribution and serving meals.
* Spearhead the preparation of modified foods and elevate their quality.
* Follow written protocols for special dietary requests.
* Assist with menu preparation.
* Adhere to the food safety plan and legislative guidelines.
* Comply with infection control, manual handling and WHS procedures.
* Maintain efficient and open communication.
What you bring
* Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience.
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery desirable.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Demonstrated effective communication skills.
* Experience in a hospital‐based kitchen setting desirable.
* A desire to contribute to a mission‐based organisation committed to caring for others.
