Sport Integrity Australia are looking to fill the role of EL1 Assistant Director, Science - Executive Level 1
About the role
The Assistant Director Science is responsible for the coordination of Sport Integrity Australia’s science function in support of Sport Integrity Australia’s vision for a safe and fair sport for all. The Science team provide scientific advice, information and intelligence to all areas of Sport Integrity Australia’s operations with a primary focus on the Anti-Doping program. The team are also responsible for:
* liaison with World Anti-Doping Authority (WADA)-Accredited Laboratories
* results management of Adverse Analytical Findings and Atypical Findings
* athlete Biological Passport (ABP) management and duties as required as members of the Sydney Athlete Passport Management Unit (APMU)
* maintenance of GlobalDRO and provision of advice about World Anti-Doping Code Prohibited Substances
* accurate record maintenance and data entry of doping control tests
What we are looking for (selection criteria):
* tertiary qualifications in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Medical Sciences, Biological Sciences, or a related field (Honours desirable, Post-Graduate Qualifications highly desirable)
* demonstrated knowledge and expertise in a relevant branch of Science and the ability to, or the ability to quickly acquire skills to, apply this knowledge to anti-doping
* strong leadership and people management skills
* highly developed oral and written communication skills, including the ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships
* demonstrated ability to shape strategic thinking, aligning operational activities with corporate goals
* strong time and project management skills, including the ability to be flexible and prioritise changing team workloads
* strong liaison, interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the ability to influence change
* demonstrated personal qualities of integrity, initiative, drive and adaptability, and experience in implementing sound workplace management practices
