Your Role
As a part-time Carpenter in the Army Reserve, you'll play a crucial role in constructing, repairing and maintaining structures in unique environments, mixing up your regular job with the challenges of military duties and the chance to help the community.
Your duties include but aren't limited to:
* interpreting plans, specifications and drawings
* interpreting Australian standards, building codes, regulations and codes of practice
* conducting building construction and maintenance tasks in accordance with quality assurance requirements
* maintaining store tools and equipment
* maintaining high work health and safety and environmental work practices

On completion of your initial military and employment training, you could earn at least $229/day tax-free.
Additional amounts are paid for time spent on exercises and deployments.
Location
You will train for 3 weeks in Wagga Wagga, NSW. Following your training, you will be posted to an Army unit close to where you live.
Eligibility:
For this role, you must:
* Be at least 17 years of age when you enter the ADF
* Have completed an Australian Year 10 education (or equivalent) with passes in English and Mathematics
* Be an Australian citizen. If you are not an Australian Citizen you may still be eligible to join the ADF if you meet certain criteria, please visit the ADF Careers Eligibility Page for more details
* Be reasonably fit and healthy. Keeping fit is a big part of joining the ADF. You'll need to pass a physical fitness test before you join, but don't worry, we'll give you tips to help you prepare
* Be able to successfully obtain a security clearance
* You'll need to be a qualified Carpenter. The minimum standard for entry is a Certificate III in Carpentry and demonstrated current work experience
