The Leader, Youth Development will oversee all areas of the School Age programs, expand youth program opportunities and support the South Region as needed. This position will also be integral to the growth and development of new youth development programming. The South Region encompasses the communities of Sherwood, McMinnville, Tigard, Tualatin, Canby, West Linn and Wilsonville, including School Age programming in McMinnville School District, West Linn-Wilsonville School District, and Tigard-Tualatin School District.
Oversight of these program areas is comprised of:
* Recruiting, training and leading a staff team to provide high quality youth programming.
* Innovating and implementing new programs that serve youth in the community.
* Development, implementation and management of successful annual financial plans.
* Engaging community stakeholders to identify prospective investors who have the capacity to contribute significant gifts to advance the Y’s strategic plan.

Essential Functions
* Innovate, launch and maintain a variety of new programs.
* Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff.
* Identify prospective communities and partners for offering YMCA Youth Development Programs.
* Foster relationships to expand YMCA of Columbia-Willamette’s Geographic Footprint.
* Engage in conversations with potential investors that further the Y’s Philanthropic goals.

* Participate in all Regional Staff Meetings and functions.

* Must be able to delegate appropriately, establish productive relations with staff team, volunteers, donors, school districts, new communities, etc.
* Ability to conduct and manage large programs within the Association’s budget and goals.
* Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
* Must pass YMCA background check.
* CPR and First Aid certifications or ability to acquire certifications within 30 days of employment.
* Must have reliable transportation across the Association.
* 2 years of experience working with youth in varying capacities.
* 2 years of supervisory experience in varying capacities.
* Complete YMCA Learning and Leadership Training pathway in timely manner (upon hire).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in person. There may be times or tasks that virtual work is acceptable. There will be times that on-site work required. There will be times when work is performed outside of “normal work hours” dependent on current programs being offered.
