Job Description
The successful candidate will be part of a team of lawyers providing practical, strategic, and independent legal advice and representation on complex child protection matters.
* Deliver high-quality legal services to departmental staff, including undertaking duties outside regular working hours for urgent applications.
* Provide expert legal advice, support, and representation to CSSCs in emergency situations under the Child Protection Act 1999.
* Prepare and provide high-quality court materials in support of child protection applications and related matters.
* Offer early legal advice to departmental staff during interactions with children and their families.
* Coordinate and represent the Director-General's participation in child protection-related legal matters.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and delivery of legal services.
* Development of training initiatives and programs to enhance local skills and knowledge.
* Quality assurance and preparation of evidence, witness support, and presentation of court cases.
* Contributing to the Department's vision and values by maintaining a culture that supports agency objectives.
