VIC Roads, well renowned organization is Seeking Compliance Advisor for their Transformation, Government Relations & Corporate Division based at Ballarat and Melbourne.
Your new role
Reporting into the Manager Risk and Compliance, the Compliance/Governance Advisor will provide trusted expert advice and support to business areas to maintain a current view of their compliance obligations and to drive the adoption of a positive risk and compliance culture that enhances the operation of Vic Roads. some flexibility to work from home and occasional travel between Ballarat and Melbourne can be expected.
Below are Job Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of the VR Compliance Framework, ensuring obligation management is adequately governed, managed, and reported on.
- Assist in the management of the VR Obligations Register covering corporate and operational obligations.
- Mapping the obligations placed upon VR and monitoring, reporting, and advising in relation to compliance with these obligations.
- Manage the roll out of compliance education and training modules as required.
- Co-ordinate quarterly governance reporting for executive, and sub-committees of the Board, including risk, assurance, and compliance.
- Oversee the policy working group and effective implementation of companywide policies and support the annual review and updates to key governance policies and frameworks.
What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrated ability to employ sound judgement, analyse complex information, make informed decisions and recommendations, and maintain confidentiality.
- Experience undertaking successful compliance analysis and reporting activities.
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation and delivery of reports, briefs, and other materials regarding complex and sensitive matters
- Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise work and operate with mínimal supervision with demonstrated ability to take initiative and full responsibility for performance of tasks allocated within set timelines
- Demonstrated advisory experience, with the ability to support team capability, motivate and support others whilst developing transparent team objectives and goals
- 5+ Years of experience is necessary
- Travelling is there between Melbourne - Ballarat once a fortnight.
- Industry background is not necessarily transport, they are open for any industry background, mix of government and private experience is an advantage
- Having experience in engaging with senior level management and positions is also required
- Reason for these positions: New Start ups and hence newly created roles
- Typical day looks like: Meeting partners, Implementing the new system and framework, sprinting the marathon, communications Work from home flexibility
