We deliver a wide range of services across metropolitan and regional WA including alcohol and other drugs, family and domestic violence, youth justice, mental health and community wellbeing.

About the Role

As the Prevention Coordinator, you'll play a key role in shaping healthier futures across the Pilbara and Kimberley. This is a highly rewarding position where your work will directly support communities to reduce alcohol and other drug harms and build stronger, safer environments for children, families and future generations.

You'll work side-by-side with Aboriginal Elders, community groups, local government, schools, Police, and the Mental Health Commission to design and deliver meaningful, culturally secure prevention initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

* Leading the development and implementation of local wellbeing, AOD management and volatile substance use plans
* Designing, delivering and evaluating evidence-based, community-led AOD prevention strategies
* Supporting and empowering community groups through training, mentoring and capacity building
* Creating strong, respectful partnerships with community organisations, Police and government agencies
* Facilitating action groups that bring local people together to address shared concerns
* Monitoring and evaluating programs to ensure they are impactful and adaptable
* Providing leadership and guidance to HOPE's Prevention and Community Engagement Teams
* Ensuring high-quality reporting and compliance with service agreements

* $100, superannuation + $15,900.00 salary packaging
* $20,000.00 regional allowance per annum
* 38 hours per week - Mon-Fri

You'll Need

* Tertiary qualification in health promotion, public health or health/social sciences
* Understanding of public health and AOD prevention principles
* Experience working with community groups on health promotion or community action initiatives
* Ability to develop, implement and evaluate prevention strategies
* Knowledge of the impacts of drugs and alcohol on individuals, families and communities
* Experience working respectfully and collaboratively with Aboriginal people and communities
* Current Driver's Licence, Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance
