Offer description

Retail Zoo is a thriving Australian success story, bringing to life some of the nation's most-loved food brands. As the powerhouse behind iconic brands including Boost Juice, Betty's Burgers, and Salsas Fresh Mex, we're known for shaking up the retail food scene with fresh ideas and authentic customer-focused experiences.

Our purpose is simple: "We power loved brands to enrich lives in small and big ways."

And our vision? Also simple - To achieve extraordinary results across our portfolio of brands through outstanding capabilities & people.

We're now seeking a passionate and hands‐on Retail Designer to join our team and play a key role in shaping the next chapter of our story. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded and creatively driven design professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys bringing innovative retail and restaurant concepts to life.

In this role, you'll lead and manage the end‐to‐end design process across new restaurants and stores, refurbishments, and store enhancement projects. Working closely with internal teams, consultants, landlords, and project stakeholders, you'll ensure all design outcomes align with brand standards while delivering commercially viable and operationally efficient environments.

Key Responsibilities

* Coordinate and manage the delivery of store designs in line with current brand standards, budgets, timelines, and company expectations.
* Create concept designs and manage external architects and engineers to ensure drawing packs align with approved concepts and brand requirements.
* Use Revit as the primary design tool to develop concept packs and support documentation for internal and external approvals.
* Manage the end‐to‐end design documentation process, including reviews, redraws, approvals, and alignment to project scope.
* Drive improvements to design execution processes to increase efficiencies, consistency, and accuracy across all design proposals.
* Collaborate closely with Leasing, Project Management, consultants, landlords, certifiers, and councils to support successful project delivery.
* Ensure all certification, health, and authority approvals are completed in line with required store opening dates.
* Review shopfitter costs and support value engineering outcomes without compromising design integrity.
* Provide timely communication across the business regarding store works, refurbishments, and project impacts.
* Assist the Project Management team during construction where site‐specific design solutions may be required.

Our ideal candidate will have

* Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or commercial design environments.
* Strong proficiency in Revit, with Adobe Creative Suite experience highly regarded.
* A keen creative eye with the ability to bring conceptual ideas to life in practical and commercially viable ways.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple areas of the business and external partners.
* Strong understanding of specifications, operational efficiency, and commercial application within design.
* Exceptional project coordination, organisation, and time management skills.
* A proactive and hands‐on approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
* Confidence working in a fast‐paced environment with multiple concurrent projects.
* The ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information professionally.

In return, you'll enjoy working from our vibrant, collaborative open‐plan office, with benefits including:

* Hone your barista skills using our commercial‐grade coffee machine.
* Enjoy a freshly blended Boost smoothie whenever you need a recharge.
* Taking an extra day to celebrate you with birthday leave every year.
* Access to our dedicated wellness platform providing 24/7 personalised support for your health, wellbeing, and everyday life.

Most importantly, you will work with a passionate and driven team that values respect, operates in a fast‐moving and vibrant environment, and has A LOT of fun along the way!
