The role requires frequent travel to support dispersed facilities, offices, and teams across Australia and New Zealand.
Main Responsibilities
 * Review and enhance financial policies with Board approval and ensure compliance.
 * Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts including annual statutory audit with an unqualified opinion.
 * Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
 * Manage cash flow investments and financial planning.
 * Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision making.
 * Control costs and maintain margins, identify opportunities to maximise profitability and improve efficiency.
 * Assist with capital expenditure proposals and post-approval reporting.
 * Review and maintain a tax-efficient structure for the broader group.
General Commercial Support
 * Provide sound commercial advice on all business matters.
 * Act as an active member of the ANZ Lead Team, fostering a culture of collaboration, trust, delivery, and continuous improvement.
Risk ESG and Insurance
 * Establish and maintain a robust risk management framework to protect reputation, supply ability, and assets of the group.
 * Maintain appropriate insurance programs and drive the group's ESG sustainability initiatives as approved by the Board.
Property Advisory Support
 * Provide financial advice for property investment activities, including reporting, cashflow planning, tax, and legal compliance.
 * Ensure lease agreements are appropriate and current, work with the COO to align seed and property needs for win-win outcomes.
Qualifications and Requirements
 * Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field.
 * Professional certification, e.g., CPA, CFA.
 * Proven senior financial management experience, preferably in agricultural or related industries.
 * Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
 * Experience managing legal commercial agreements, IT risk management, and sustainability initiatives.
 * Track record of managing large-scale operations and driving business growth.
 * Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and data-driven decision making.
 * ERP experience, ideally Microsoft D365.
 * Able and willing to travel extensively across Australia and New Zealand, and potentially further.
 * Computer literacy with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
 * Strong strategic capabilities along with customer-focused business acumen.
 * Excellent collaboration and relationship building skills, team player.
 * Problem-solving orientation and ability to think critically under pressure.
