* Senior position within the company – Working closely with the MD

Our Client is a leading Civil Contracting Company heavily involved in the Mining/Resources sector and are looking for an experienced Operations Manager who will be responsible for all aspects of the Civil and Mining operations, and as a people & culture leader. Working closely with the MD and the senior leadership team, you will be responsible to manage the day-to-day operations, reporting and organisation of all company activities.


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Manage and coordinate all day-to-day project site works.
* Manage project related costs/financials, make adjustments and corrections in line with the project.
* Assist the MD in the preparation of tenders, quotes and client presentations.
* Develop and implement business plans and strategies to increase business growth and meet operational requirements.
* Successfully build new business relationships and key account management of existing clients.
* Promote a culture of safety within the workforce by leading by example and supporting safety policies and procedures.
* Maintain a professional working relationship with all internal staff, Mine Site personnel, customers, and stakeholders.
* Ensure all personnel representing the company adhere to all business and Mine Site Policies and Procedures and Occupational Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
* Provide instruction, training, and supervision – provide coaching, advice and mentoring and motivation and leadership.
* Report any safety suggestions, hazards, or risk management incidents.
* Lead, encourage, motivate staff and promote a teamwork culture.
* Conduct performance reviews, appraisals and set training plans and KPI's.
* Conduct regular site visits each month to ensure KPI's, reporting and operations are being managed in line with business objectives and targets.


QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* Previous experience as an Operations Manager within the Civil/Earthworks or Mining sector.
* Have the ability to manage the scope, duration, and budget of a project.
* Excellent process monitoring and improvement skills.
* Effective planning and scheduling skills.
* Good knowledge and practical application of workplace Occupational Health & Safety.
* Strong Leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent networking and Account Management skills.
* Hold a current and clear National Police Certificate (obtained within the last 12 months).
* Flexible to travel to site.
